New Trend of Global Foundry Industry —— 2018 China Foundry Congress &Industry Exhibition

Global casting production in 2016 was 104.4 million tons, close to 1.041 billion tons in 2015. In 2016, the output of Chinese castings was 47.2 million tons, an increase of 5.4% year-on-year, accounting for 45% of the total global casting output. India achieved 11.35 million tons, an increase of 5.4%. The output exceeded the United States and jumped to the second place. In the past 50 years, the output of different alloy castings has undergone great changes. Grey iron decreased from more than three-quarters of its total output in 1966 to less than one-half in 2016. At the same time, the amount of ductile iron and aluminum increased significantly. From the 50-year curve, it can be seen that China and India have gradually transformed into dominant countries of casting production.
2016 witnessed the decreasing number of foundry companies, increasing total production and gradual integration of companies, which makes the high productivity.

Development of Automotive Industry Drives China Foundry into a New Era

In 2016, the total output of all kinds of castings in China was 47.2 million tons, ranking the first in the world for 16 consecutive years. From the perspective of changes in the material structure of castings, aluminum alloy castings increased by 13.11% in 2016, ductile iron castings increased by 4.76%, and aluminum (magnesium) alloy castings accounted for 14.6% of production (13.4% in 2015). The changes in automobile output and structure have a greater impact on the demand for castings. The proportion of automotive castings is close to 1/3, which is 29.9%.

2018 China Foundry Congress & Industry Exhibition will be held on 15th to 17th November, 2018 at the Suzhou International Expo Ce nter. Focusing on the industry hotspots, this exhibition will help to develop the “knowledge sharing and exchange learning experience” function during this week. The meeting specially invited government officials and authoritative experts in various technical fields to deeply analyze national policies and technical difficulties, and to explore solutions. The exhibition invited domestic and foreign leading companies to communicate with other peers, and establish a foothold both at home and abroad. As part of the country’s “Going Global” development strategy, the 2018 Asia-Pacific Metal Industry Exhibition will be held from 15th to 17th November, 2018, at the BITEC, Bangkok, allowing exhibitors to fully enter the international market.
